Breitbart – A Warrior Is Gone

On March 1, 2012, in Politics, by admin

Conservatives have lost a great warrior. Andrew Breitbart‘s death has hit me hard for many reasons. He was two years younger than me. He was a husband and a father of four. He exposed rampant governmental fraud and media bias. Love him or hate him, his actions made history and made America better.

Many words will be written, and as I’ve said many times “death brings out the best and worst in people.” Some on the left are surely dancing a happy jig over the loss of the most aggressive of their enemies, but I am thankful to see that the folks at Media Matters have posted a respectful statement.

I’m just a guy. I blog because I want to educate people and make the world a better place for my children. Breitbart was that at an exponentially greater degree. He had a deep understanding of politics, unquestionable bravado and the passion to pursue and expose fraud and lies at a level few have ever matched.

He was a pit bull, a tenacious patriot. But as famous as he had become, he was equally accessible. I’ve interviewed him and I’ve partied with him in groups large and small. He would talk to anyone willing to listen and he truly enjoyed taking on his political opponents. Unlike most liberals I have been exposed to, Breitbart willfully (and literally) walked into crowds of his polar opposites to engage and educate. When you truly believe in something you should be able to defend your position and you should welcome the chance to educate others. You do not try to stifle those with opposing viewpoints, you try to educate them.

I will write more later when I have more time and am able to focus better. Below is the interview I conducted with him at the 2010 SRLC in New Orleans. I can’t believe he is gone.

Update: A video reminder from Ace of Spades of how effective Brietbart was despite massive attacks from the left.

Update: Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) pays tribute to Andrew Breitbart on the House Floor:

FTR Radio has become the place to be heard if you are a conservative blogger, radio show host, activity, or politician. The following interviews were conducted at Right Online 2010 in Las Vegas.  The first video is FTR Radio co0founder Paul Croteau (me) interviewing Herman Cain, a potential wave-maker in the race for the Republican presidential nomination (assuming he is running).  ;-) The second video has Smart Girl Politics co-founder Teri Christoph interviewing Americans For Prosperity president Tim Phillips.
