I hate hypocrites. I hate lying liberals. I hate false rage. I hate the New York Times. They buried this story on page A-18. If Bush did it it would be front page news. Oh wait. He did. It was.
New York Times: Human rights advocates are growing deeply uneasy with Mr. Obama’s stance on these issues, especially his recent move to block the release of photographs showing abuse of detainees, and his announcement that he is willing to try terrorism suspects in military commissions — a concept he criticized bitterly as a presidential candidate.
I love when the passionate, tolerant left is wrong. It is even better when their chosen messiah adopts policies that said messiah campaigned against so energetically.
From Fox News. Maybe that knee-jerk, code-pink supporting, anyone but Bush, executive order on Day 2 of the Four Years of Hell tour was a bad idea after all? Maybe our president could learn how to THINK before making decisions?
Senate Democrats threw cold water on President Obama’s plans to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center Tuesday, pulling money for the closure from a $91 billion war spending request and publicly opposing the transfer of any detainees to U.S. soil.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Democrats not only oppose the release of detainees into the United States but also oppose the transfer of detainees to U.S. prisons.
“We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States,” he said, adding: “Part of what we don’t want is for them to be put in prisons in the United States. We don’t want them around in the United States.”
Hooray! Barack Obama won the election! We can finally wash our pink t-shirts and celebrate the coming world peace! We can start dismantling all of the damage caused by the evil Bush Machine. Close Gitmo! Peace, love and granola!
Reality check.
Dems are happy to reverse anything Bush-related, but paying for it is a different story. “Amid complaints that terror suspects could be brought to the U.S., House Democrats on Monday rebuffed the Obama administration’s request for $50 million to relocate prisoners from the detention facility at Guantanamo, Cuba.” Where the hell did you think they would end up in the first place? Perhaps you should have thought this through before rushing to reverse a useful policy while still drunk from innauguration champagne?
