The Faux Problems With Rick Perry

On August 15, 2011, in Politics, by admin

An excellent, albeit lengthy, post has been written about Texas governor Rick Perry and the seventeen supposed problems he poses as a Republican presidential candidate. I can’t improve on the article, as it is quite thoroughly researched, but I have extracted the list of gigs against him. Please read the article and share it. It is important that we have the facts available to squelch the inevitable and persistent lies and distortions we know the left will be spouting throughout the campaign season.

  1. Gardasil
  2. Trans-Texas Corridor
  3. He used to be a Democrat and was Al Gore’s campaign manager in Texas
  4. He wants Texas to secede from the union
  5. The jobs created in Texas have all been low paying jobs. Texas’ average wage is much lower than the national average.
  6. Texas ranks poorly in educational spending and high school graduations
  7. Perry turned down $555 million in federal stimulus, yet later asked for federal disaster aid for Texas wildfires
  8. Perry says he has not raised taxes, but he has
  9. Perry has presided over the highest number of executions in the nation
  10. 1erry refused to consider commuting the execution of Mexican national Humberto Leal Garcia even though it had been requested by the U.N. and the White House
  11. Cameron Todd Willingham – was he an innocent man?
  12. Perry supports giving in-state tuition to illegals
  13. Rick Perry is gay
  14. Perry is a “weak” Governor (the Governor of a state that limits the Governor’s powers)
  15. He is squishy on immigration
  16. Perry is a member of the Bilderberg cabal and therefore believes in a New World Order (NWO). That is reason alone to eliminate him from voting consideration.
  17. Texas’ abysmal rankings on various lists

Please take some time and read this well-researched article. All credit for this list goes to Garnet92, the author. I also offer a hat tip to my friend Michelle over at The Jersey-Texan.

Homeschool Support Rally (HR 2084)

On April 7, 2009, in Politics, by admin

Today at the Texas State Capital about 250 supporters of homeschooling and parental rights let their voices be heard in support of Texas Parental Rights Restoration Act (TPRRA) (HB 2084). We thanked the many Texas legislators that are fighting to support our rights and put an end to crazy lawsuits that, among other things, allow grandparents to steal children away from their parents simply because the parents choose to homeschool. Governor Perry is an ardent supporter of homeschool rights and was the final speaker. (I got the chance to meet him afterwards.)

Committee members have been contacted. At this point the most effective strategy is for these legislators to hear only from their own constituents asking for support of the TPRRA. If your state representative is part of the Human Services Committee, please call and ask him/her to restore parental rights in Texas by supporting HB 2084 in the hearing on Thursday.

For more details please visit the Right In Texas web site or the Texas Home School Coalition web site. Talking points are available here.
