Over the weekend I attended the Americans For Prosperity “Defending the American Dream” summit in Austin, TX. It was a meeting for conservatives looking to network, share ideas, strategize and do anything they can to help get America back on track.
Between sessions, my presentation on podcasting and other activities I was able to squeeze in interviews with comedian Steven Crowder, HotAir.com co-founder Bryan Preston and presidential candidate Herman Cain. (I will be broadcasting these over the next few weeks during my weekly live broadcast on Thursdays at 10pm EST.)
Here are a few of my notes from the event:
- If you need royalty-free music for your blog or radio show, check out FreePlayMusic.com.
- If you have any desire to record conversations with public officials or other news makers, you better first check out the rules surrounding the concept of “one party consent“
- Rick Perry is a wonderful politician. He knows how to work a room
- Ramparts360.com won TX AFP’s blog of the year award.
- Kingstreetpatriots.com won TX AFP’s web site of the year award.
- Jason Moore was presented with an AFP Lifetime Achievement award.
If you are interested in becoming active in your community I strongly encourage you to find your nearest Americans For Prosperity contact and join this organization. They have events planned all over the country, and if the Texas chapter is an indicator of success, you will truly enjoy working with AFP.
